Pico Laser Resurfacing treats a wide range of skin concerns without requiring downtime. It shatters sun spots, improves acne scarring, and minimizes fine lines and wrinkles. It’s a great way to prevent and treat premature aging in all skin types. Because it doesn’t use heat, Pico laser is one of the few lasers that are safe for dark skin tones.
BOOK NOWREQUEST APPOINTMENTPico Laser Resurfacing is a laser treatment to improve signs of sun damage and premature aging, like fine lines, wrinkles, and sunspots. It is also used to improve textural issues, like acne scarring. In addition, the Pico laser gives further anti-aging benefits by enhancing collagen and elastin production in the skin.
The Pico laser sends ultra-short pulses of photo-acoustic sound waves into the skin to shatter pigment buildup, like sun spots. Your body then naturally eliminates the pigment particles. Because the Pico laser uses sound waves instead of heat as most lasers do, it is safe for all skin tones. In addition, the laser triggers your body’s natural immune response to produce collagen and elastin, which improves skin texture and naturally plumps the skin.
We can safely treat the face, neck, and chest skin to give you an altogether youthful appearance.
Every skin journey at The Esthetics Center begins with a consultation with one of our skilled nurses to discuss your goals and concerns. We will also assess your medical history during this consultation to ensure your safety. Before beginning any treatments, we will take before and after pictures to track your progress towards achieving your goals.
We will start the treatment by cleaning the skin. We will then apply a topical anesthetic cream to numb the area to ensure that you are completely comfortable during the procedure. Once the medication has set, we will wipe the skin clean and place laser shields over your eyes. Depending on how many areas we treat, the laser session will take approximately 30-75 minutes. Once the treatment is complete, we will apply a medicated balm to moisturize and promote healing.
Most of our patients report minimal to no discomfort during their Pico Laser Resurfacing treatment. Additionally, we apply topical numbing cream to the treatment area in order to make you as comfortable as possible during the treatment.
Pico Laser Resurfacing is one of the very few lasers that are safe for all skin types. It’s suitable for anyone wanting to treat discoloration and texture issues in the face, neck, and chest.
As with all of our treatments, we assess your medical history, individual skin, and goals during your consultation. Should you have any concerns or questions, we are more than happy to address them at this time.
Yes! As with any medical or cosmetic procedure, the most important thing you can do is make sure you see a licensed and trained medical professional. Your appointment will include a discussion of your medical history and a thorough examination of the treatment site. Doing so ensures that you are getting the most effective treatment and that you understand the minor risks and complications that may pertain to your individual skin.
Following a Pico laser treatment, you may experience redness similar to a mild sunburn. In most cases, it subsides within a few hours, and you can resume your daily activities with no issues. However, redness can persist for 2-3 days. Pinpoint bleeding is also possible during the treatment. The Pico laser doesn’t create the damage to the surface of your skin that other resurfacing lasers do. Because of this, you can use makeup, moisturizer, and other topical products post-treatment. You should also wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen of at least SPF 30 after your treatment.
You should be fully healed In 3-7 days, and loving your results. You’ll notice your skin is more even and dewy. You’ll also see fine lines and wrinkles begin to improve. After 4-6 weeks, you’ll see further benefits from boosted elastin and collagen production—smoother, plumper, and tighter skin.
Most patients describe post-treatment looking and feeling like a mild sunburn, but it fades within a few hours for most people. It can persist for 2-3 days at most. Pinpoint bleeding is possible during treatment. We recommend the use of ice packs or cold compresses for any discomfort you may experience.
