Did you know? In 10 years, a woman will spend an average of…

⏰ Shaving: 360 hours

⏰ Waxing: 180 hours

⏰ Laser: 6 Hours

Once you begin your journey with laser hair removal, you will save yourself a great deal of time. ⏳  Utilizing laser is the state of the art way to win back freedom to go to the beach at the drop of a hat or to feel more confident in your everyday life.

If you are considering booking your first treatment, here are the DO'S and DON'TS  for safe laser hair removal:

DO:

Stay out of the sun. This is one instruction that isn’t optional. It is recommended to stay out of the sun because of your skin’s increased vulnerability to UV rays. Exposure of UV rays to the treated area increases the risk of skin damage.

DON’T:

If you have a tan, you’ll need to wait till it fades. This includes tanning beds, or tanning lotion for at least two weeks before the treatment. Tanning before the treatment can interfere with the absorption of laser light. You want your tan as close to its natural color as possible because you don’t want to over-treat the area. Over-treating a sensitive area can increase your chances of hyperpigmentation, burns and even scarring.

DO:

Instead of waxing, SHAVE the area that you plan to have treated on the night before or the morning of your appointment. During your procedure, you want the root of the hair to still be present. The laser is attracted to the pigment of the hair follicle, and each session targets a percentage of the hairs at different growth cycles.

DON’T:

Don’t worry about pain. Laser hair removal is virtually painless and is 100% safe for your skin. When tracing the procedural site, the laser will feel spicy, which is why we will provide a “Zimmer Chiller” cold-air supply to reduce discomfort to the area that is being treated. This is a tool that the patient can use to direct and control the super-chilled air supply to the “hot” area during treatment.

DO:

Be prepared to be patient through your laser hair journey. Laser hair removal takes two weeks after your first treatment to see a difference, and six treatments to get the full result. Approximately 20% of hair follicles are in a susceptible phase for treatment, which means that optimal hair reduction will require multiple sessions of therapy. These sessions are spaced apart, and will usually be conducted every 4-6 weeks.

Laser hair removal is extremely popular, especially for people who want to get rid of hair permanently. Imagine not having to wax or shave your underarms, legs or even bikini line while you are away on vacation, or even on a daily basis. Dare to be bare?
